Everest Lure

Ravencraft "Pen-Worm" Slow-sinking

The "Pen-Worm" is a straight worm-type soft bait designed and developed by the brand RAVENCRAFT®. Using specially crafted materials, it achieves a soft, lifelike posture while maintaining enough "resilience" to keep balanced when hooked in the middle. The Pen-Worm displays a natural, agile action, producing a realistic sway even when sinking without added weight. It is versatile, suitable for various fishing techniques, and effective in both wild waters and pressured fishing areas.

Made with original, biodegradable Japanese DIC materials and molded through a standardized high-pressure process, the Pen-Worm adheres to international environmental standards. It also uses a precision dual-color process (for select colors) and incorporates food-grade salt to adjust its density, achieving a lead-free, balanced descent. For added effectiveness, it is infused with authentic shrimp oil extract, which enhances sensory stimulation for target fish, increasing the chances of a successful catch.

How to choose lure types?

Start by identifying your target species and their preferred prey. In U.S. freshwater, that might mean matching small crankbaits or plastic worms to largemouth or smallmouth bass, finesse jigs to crappie and walleye, or spinners to rainbow and brown trout. In saltwater, topwaters and soft plastics that mimic shrimp or mullet work well for redfish, snook, and speckled trout.

How does matching lure type to cover and depth imporve the success?

Weedless soft plastics and topwaters excel over grass or wood; deep-diving crankbaits and heavy jigs are ideal around submerged structure. Always “match the hatch” by observing local forage—if minnows dominate, choose shad-patterned plugs; if crawfish are everywhere, go with brownish, bulky soft plastics.

How to choose the right color and size?

Color and size hinge on water clarity and temperature. In clear water, stick to natural hues; in stained or muddy water, switch to bright chartreuse, firetiger, or solid white. Use smaller profiles in cold conditions (think 2–3-inch plastics), and bump up to 4–6-inch baits as the water warms.
